The Walton Okaloosa Council on Aging can provide the following services/activities to our clients:
Congregate Meals – these are meals served at our sites within Walton & Okaloosa County 5 days a week and includes Education Programs
Meals on Wheels – Meals to the seniors of Walton & Okaloosa County who met the requirements
Alzheimer’s Disease Care for clients with Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia to interact with others at Day Care Center's in Ft Walton Beach or in their home
Shopping Assistance taking clients shopping or going shopping for them
Homemaking light housekeeping
Personal Care helping with baths, grooming, dressing etc
Respite Care allows a full time caregiver a break during a day
Case Management overseeing clients that need additional assistance’s
Social Activities to include a Christmas banquet, bingo, wii, and other games at our senior centers/meal sites, potlucks and holiday/seasonal parties at our senior centers/meal site, and other activities at our centers/meals sites
We also offer the following services to anyone in our area:
Loan closet open to anyone, which has medical & non-medical supplies
Referrals to include Medicare programs, legal aid, and helping seniors to get any required paperwork done for signing up for programs such as Medicaid, SNAP,etc
Emergency Energy Assistance for the Elderly a program for any senior over 60 to help pay either their utility bill, or fill a propane tank during the heating season based on income
In addition to those groups that are focused on providing Hurricane Michael relief support, there are many community organizations that provide services year round. We encourage you to reach out them.
